Q. Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

A. Yes. We are AAA NAID security certified, licensed and bonded.

Q. If my material is stored in a hard to access location can you provide
    the necessary labor to remove the material? For example, if my material
    is located in a basement, attic, or off-site storage facility can you still
    accommodate me?

A. Automated Shredding will provide labor necessary to complete any job. We have
    moved boxes from basements, attics and off-site storage facilities. In some cases,
    we’ve traveled to several off-site facilities for the same customer. We will do all we
    can to please the customer. Automated Shredding specializes in both commercial
    AND residential paper shredding.

Q. What are some examples of what I should shred?

A. Below is a list of examples of what to shred:

    Address labels from junk mail and magazines
    ATM receipts
    Bank statements
    Birth certificate copies
    Canceled and voided checks
    Credit and charge card bills, carbon copies, summaries and receipts
    Credit reports and histories
    Documents containing names, addresses, phone numbers or e-mail  addresses
    Documents relating to investments
    Documents containing passwords or PIN numbers
    Driver's licenses or items with a driver's license number

Q. Are your customers able to witness the paper shredding process?

A. Yes, we strongly encourage our customers to witness destruction on our
    color monitor located on the shredding truck.

Q. Are you approved to shred HIPAA-related documents including medical
    records and medical electronically stored records?

A. No shredding company is HIPPA approved or certified. However, we are NAID
    AAA security- certified, and following NAID guidelines we do help keep our customers
    compliant with HIPPA regulations and offer confidential and secure destruction of your
    medical records.

Q. Under the HIPAA regulations, is it recommended that all medical records
    should be destroyed?

A. Yes, HIPPA requires that all medical information is destroyed.

Q. Do I need to remove all paperclips, stables, or binders from my documents 
    before they are able to be shredded?

A. No, you do not need to remove these articles in order for them be shredded.

Q. What do you do with the paper once you shred it?

A. Once the paper is shredded, it is baled into 2,000 pound bales and sent to the paper
    mill where it is reduced to a liquid pulp. This pulp is then recycled into new paper.

Q. How quickly can Automated Shredding pick up my documents?

A. If requested we will do everything possible to give you same day service or arrive
   within 24 hours at your preferred location. At Automated Shredding we provide service
   24 hours a day and weekend service at no extra cost. We also offer residential shredding
   and will arrive at your home at a scheduled time that works for you.

Q. Do you supply containers for us to place our documents in for shredding?

A. Yes, we supply locked, security bins for your documents at absolutely no cost to you.
    The only cost that you incur is the paper shredding cost.
